    Your child is a soccer player, gymnast, baseball or softball player! How about a “TRIATHLETE!” YESSSS! The Keller Kids and Family Triathlon happens Sunday, April 10 at the Keller Natatorium! Children ages 4-14 SWIM-BIKE-RUN for FUN and FITNESS! Family members can do the run with their little triathlete! Event limited to 300 children! All Keller Kids Tri’s have SOLD OUT! Join us!

  • Overview

    The NEW Keller Kids and Family Triathlon is part of the Kids 2016 Triathlon events and a great way to get the kids involved in the sport of triathlon.

    PRICE $35.00

    The triathlon is for children ages 4 to 13. Children are allowed to use training wheels on their bikes and life vests in the water. There are three different distances for the race:

    Ages 4-6: 25 yard swim, 1 mile bike, 1/3 mile run

    Ages 7-10: 75 yard swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run

    Ages 11-13: 125 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run

    Every entry will receive a Keller Kids and Family Triathlon t-shirt and Finishers Medal.

  • Course Information

    Leap Frogs (4-6 age group): Swim, 25 yards, bike 1 mile, run .5 mile

    Road Runners (7-10 age group): Swim 75 yards, bike 2 mile, run 1 mile

    Gladiators (11-13) age group): Swim 125 yards, bike 3 miles, run 1 mile

    Children will swim in the Keller Natatorium, bike on a closed route and run on the beautiful Bear Creek Trails. Children are allowed to use training wheels on their bikes and life vests in the water.

  • Frequesntly Asked Questions

    Does my child need a helmet?

    All cyclists MUST wear helmets.

    Which group/wave goes first?

    Leap frogs are the first to take the plunge followed by Road Runners and Gladiators.

    Are parents allowed on the course to help the child?

    ONE parent is allowed in transition while the child transitions from swim to bike & bike to run. Parents are allowed in transition to help the child set-up.

    NOTE: Parents are also allowed to do the run portion of the event with their big time triathlete child!

    What if we have a bike problem (flat tire, bad chain, etc.) on race day?

    Knobbies and Slicks Bike Shop will be on-hand to help.

    What else should I be asking?

    Now that is a good question. In a nutshell, don’t stress. Simply show up with a swimsuit, bike & helmet and some running shoes. We will take it from there.

    What is “Packet Pick-Up”

    Packet Pick-Up is where you’ll receive race day information (race number, shirt, etc.) You may pick your packet up for other kids or have someone pick up your packet. The child does not need to come to packet pick-up.

  • Race Day Schedule

    6:30 a.m. – Transition Opens for Body Marking, etc

    7:30 a.m. – Leap Frogs Start the swim, followed by Road Runners, then Gladiators

    8:00 a.m. – First Kids cross the Finish line and get their medals

    8:15 a.m. – Post Party Treats and Drinks

    10:30 a.m. – Parents Help Clean Up

    11:00 a.m. – Take Kids to there Next Event…. Soccer, Baseball, etc.
