  • The Latest Buzz

What’s the “buzz?” It is the Disco Triathlon, of course! The BIGGEST fall open-water triathlon event in Texas with Sprint, Olympic and BADA$$ X-50 distances!

You’ve already seen the killer swag, right? You know about the rocking beach start along with their wonderful spectator friendly venue? Well, here’s a new one for you! We are grilling burgers this year! Yeah, you got it, BURGERS at the finish line!!!

See you on Sunday, September 17! Death to Disco? NEVER!!!

  • Overview

While some of our other races are more competitive, Disco is without a doubt our most popular.

It simple… Gold chains, big hair, polyester and silk, a KILLER race course, a beach start and a finish next to the lake.

We offer three distances at Disco.

Sprint: 500 yards flat lake swim, 17.6 mile ride and 3.1 mile run.

Olympic: 1 mile swim, 23-mile ride and 6.2 mile run.

X-50: 1 mile swim, 40 mile ride, 9 mile run.

    – All have a spectator friendly beach start

    – The bike ride has a couple of “Texas Hills”

    – The run is awesome! Runners run through a tree lined state park.

You won’t be alone at Disco. You’ll have a thousand fellow athletes joining you on the course, along with tons of spectators to cheer you on and join us on the dance floor to do that boogie thang! Afros welcome!

The X-50 distance: In 2011, Dallas Athletes Racing introduced a new distance to the Disco triathlon series,The X-50 distance triathlon. The intention of this race is to let athletes achieve both SPEED and ENDURANCE. Longer than an Olympic distance and shorter than a Half-Ironman, the X-50 distances are as follows: 1 mile swim, 40 mile bike, and 9 mile run. The Disco Triathlon Series features a sand beach swim start. The bike ride features some “Texas hills”. (If you’re not from Texas, a Texas hill is just that… a hill… which breaks up the flat terrain of the area). The run is mostly tree lined through the state park.

    Race features:

    • Open to men and women
    • Sand beach start to an open-water swim
    • Post-race festivities include a live Disco band
